ERTÉ (1892-1990) Born Romain de Tirtoff in imperial St. Petersburg, Russia, Erté derived his pen name from the French pronunciation of his initials "R.T." Over a long and distinguished career, he had a major influence on the style and design of the 20th Century. The designs created by Erté during his life influenced not only the world of theater, film and fashion, but an entire art movement as well. The genius of the artist is evidenced by an enormous body of work that is considered among the most influential and unique of the 20th century. His achievements earned him the title "Father of Art Deco."

This poster titled "Ebony in White" was published in 1982 by Grosvenor Gallery. A very limited supply of these posters were set aside and signed by Erté at the time of publication. Now over 30 years old and no longer in print, they are very rare and make excellent collector's items. 

Original Edition Silk-screen on wove paper, 1982.  Paper Size: 32" x 24."  Signed in pencil by the artist.  Published by Grosvenor Gallery.  Excellent Condition; never framed or matted.  Certificate of Authenticity included.
